Full Job Description
The Senior Manager, Shared Services VMO, serves as the enterprise subject matter expert for vendor governance and contract strategy, providing contractual guidance and Shared Services best practices to business functions. This role ensures strategic alignment of vendor relationships, optimizes vendor performance, and drives cost-effective, high-quality service delivery. Partnering closely with Business Units, Shared Services leadership, Legal, and Finance, the Sr. Manager leads cross-functional initiatives to strengthen vendor governance, manage risk and compliance, enhance performance outcomes, and support long-term business transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and continuously evolves Shared Services vendor management frameworks, policies, and best practices to drive operational excellence, risk mitigation, and enterprise value realization.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for vendor governance, designing and enhancing governance models that ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and enterprise standards.
- Leads the development and negotiation of complex contractual frameworks, including Work Orders, Statements of Work, Amendments, and Change Orders, ensuring alignment with evolving business strategies and operational requirements.
- Establishes performance management methodologies and provides strategic oversight of KPIs, SLAs, and service credit mechanisms to drive accountability and continuous vendor performance improvement.
- Leads cross-functional reviews to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate vendor-related financial, operational, compliance, and service delivery risks.
- Advises senior leadership on vendor investment strategies, contract negotiations, and cost optimization opportunities to maximize business value and operational efficiency.
- Leads vendor-enabled transformation initiatives, including AI and automation strategies, partnering with business leaders to optimize service delivery models and accelerate enterprise objectives.
- Serves as the organization's trusted advisor and recognized expert on vendor governance, contract strategy, service delivery, and third-party risk management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 6-8 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or shared services
- Strong knowledge of vendor governance frameworks, contract management, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing global vendors and offshore delivery models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Working knowledge of Ariba preferred.
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $128,500.00 - $164,000.00
