Full Job Description
Senior Manager, SEM Analytics

Cambridge, MA / Hybrid

(This role requires working in-office 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.)

About the role:

As Senior Manager, SEM Analytics, you will be EverQuote's SEM expert and lead our SEM analytics team. You'll own SEM end to end - bid strategy, budget, campaign structure, and measurement - while managing and developing the team responsible for executing on it.

You will report directly to the VP of Growth Analytics. This role is built for someone who wants to be both the channel's technical expert and the leader who scales that expertise through a team.

What you'll do:
  • Own SEM end to end: bid strategy, budget allocation and pacing, campaign and account structure, keyword/query strategy, and automated/Smart Bidding dynamics across search platforms.
  • Manage and develop the SEM analytics team
  • Use SQL (Snowflake) to analyze performance: by campaign, incrementality, and connection to downstream customer outcomes.
  • Identify and execute optimization opportunities: bid adjustments, budget reallocation, structural changes, target adjustments.
  • Design, launch, and evaluate experiments (bid strategy tests, structure tests, budget tests) with rigor on significance, power, and confound control.
  • Partner with the VP of Growth Analytics on SEM strategy and portfolio-level tradeoffs.

What you bring to the team:
  • 6+ years in performance marketing, with direct, hands-on ownership of SEM campaigns and budgets - not agency-managed, not analytics-only oversight of someone else's execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field OR demonstrated analytical ability or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
  • Proven experience managing people, ideally including managing senior analysts or managers.
  • Deep fluency in SEM mechanics: bid strategy, automated/Smart Bidding dynamics, budget pacing, account and campaign structure, keyword/query management.
  • Strong SQL skills; able to independently pull, shape, and analyze large datasets (Snowflake a plus).
  • Solid experimentation fundamentals: significance, power, incrementality measurement, confound control.
  • Clear communication with both technical and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in an internet marketplace or lead-gen business (insurance industry experience is not required - SEM depth matters more than vertical familiarity).
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate analysis and execution.

The base salary actually offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant's job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location. The base salary for this full-time role is $119,800-$150,000

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in variable cash bonus programs, equity, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility which are designated by role.

Your recruiter can provide more details about additional compensation components, such as OTE structure, bonus targets, or equity, during the hiring process.
