Senior Manager, Risk Management
As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One’s Global Payment Network Risk Operations you will apply your project management, analytical skills, and knowledge of anti-money laundering and sanctions to our highest profile Risk Management projects. You will engage with professionals across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge financial crimes risk management solutions to ensure Capital One’s continued stability and success. Senior Risk Managers partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential Risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.
Responsibilities:
Understanding, documenting and analyzing current state capabilities regarding anti-money laundering, sanctions, or financial crimes risk management. Leverage industry analysis or benchmarking to determine best practices and lessons learned regarding components of the Risk framework.
Write and revise documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides. Write, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aid in the design, development, refinement, and usage of Risk methods.
Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations such as Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices, Operational Risk Sub-Steward organizations, Information Technology, Basel Program, Internal Audit, Regulator Relations, etc. to achieve objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of Financial Services Risk Management or Compliance Experience in anti-financial crimes
At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal compliance, legal, and business clients
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 10 years of Financial Services or risk management experience
Experience leading cross-functional projects or programs within a risk management environment
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and managing project stakeholders

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Risk Manager
McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr. Risk Manager
New York, NY: $193,800 - $221,200 for Sr. Risk Manager
Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Risk Manager
Riverwoods, IL: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Risk Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
