Job Summary

Mission : Lead and oversee the North American quality team (comprising 8 to 10 professionals) by fostering team engagement, continuous mentoring, and skills development. Proactively drive the product development lifecycle by rigorously integrating APQP and PPAP methodologies. Manage strategic and operational compliance with OEM customer requirements, while driving and implementing robust continuous improvement plans to optimize overall product, process, and service quality.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Local Management: Lead and supervise the quality team (8-10 staff). Apply HR processes, provide coaching and mentoring, evaluate performance, and implement continuous improvement plans for operational quality, incoming/in-process/final inspection, reliability testing, and DFMEA/PFMEA risk analysis tools.
  • OEM Quality & PPAP: Act as the interface with operations and customers. Review and confirm compliance with non-standard OEM requirements during quotation requests. Coordinate, prepare, and maintain customer PPAP documentation.
  • Product Development & APQP: Actively participate in risk analysis and management tools within product development. Integrate quality planning and collaborate closely with Product Engineering, R&D, and Sales.

  • Internal: Sales, Production, R&D, Product Management, Customer Care, Continuous Improvement, Operations.
  • External: Suppliers, Customers.

Requirements, Education & Skills
  • Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with 10 years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Mastery of AIAG 5 Core Tools (APQP, PPAP). Automotive experience is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Languages & Soft Skills: Fully bilingual in French and English (written, spoken, read). Strong organization, attention to detail, technical writing, and priority management.

Performance Indicators, Career Path & QHSE
  • KPIs: Overall quality KPIs and on-time compliant PPAP documentation.
  • Career Path: Progression opportunities toward Quality Director, Operational Excellence, Product Management, or Sales.
  • QHSE Contribution & Equipment: Active contribution to quality improvement, environmental protection, safety, and working conditions. Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) related to the electronics environment (ESD).

Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec so incumbents can communicate with their colleagues and suppliers in Quebec as necessary. French-language training is offered to all incumbents in permanent positions in Quebec who do not have a good knowledge of French.
