Full Job Description
As a Senior Manager, Professional Practice Group (PPG) - Accounting Standards your responsibilities will include:
• Provides timely, practical, solutions-oriented, technically sound and objective advice on the application of accounting standards when non-routine, complex matters are encountered
• Researches and consults, both internally and externally, on complex accounting issues
• Develops and presents professional development programs related to accounting standards (e.g. live courses, e-learning, web presentations)
• Assists with the preparation of external and internal accounting publications
• Develops and maintains client relationships with external clients and internal Doane Grant Thornton professionals
• Supports the National Leader of Accounting Services in interactions with Grant Thornton International, other large accounting firms in Canada, and professional bodies
• Teams with the other functional lines of the PPG, including: Practice Support, National Assurance Services and National Quality on various projects as part of the overall PPG mandate

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation
• Manager/Experienced Manager in a client-facing practice or professional standards role, preferably in a public accounting environment
• Significant experience in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), Accounting Standards for Pensions (ASPP) and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) knowledge will be considered an asset, but is not required
• Proven top-notch technical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proven relationship and collaborative working skills
• Outstanding organizational and time/project management abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors-your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $110,000-$143,000 in Toronto. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
