The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is seeking an experienced and strategic senior manager to lead the growth, engagement, and optimization of our Higher Logic-powered online community ecosystem.
What You'll DoAs Online Community Manager, you'll serve as the strategic leader and primary administrator of ASCE's online communities, driving member engagement and ensuring a valuable, welcoming, and dynamic digital experience. You will:
- Develop and execute online community strategies that increase participation, engagement, and member value.
- Manage discussions, community groups, resource libraries, permissions, moderation settings, notifications, and member access.
- Create engagement campaigns, discussion prompts, announcements, and community resources.
- Moderate community conversations and ensure adherence to community standards and governance practices.
- Identify and support community champions, volunteers, ambassadors, and power users.
- Monitor participation trends and engagement metrics, using analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Administer the Higher Logic platform, including community configurations, libraries, user roles, permissions, and communication tools.
- Serve as ASCE's primary liaison with Higher Logic support and coordinate platform enhancements, issue resolution, and user support.
- Partner with membership, communications, marketing, chapters, committees, and event teams to support organizational initiatives and member engagement goals.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing online communities, member engagement programs, professional networks, or digital communities.
- Hands-on experience administering Higher Logic Thrive or a comparable online community platform.
- Strong understanding of community management, moderation practices, digital engagement strategies, and content development.
- Experience using analytics and reporting tools to measure adoption, participation, and engagement.
- Excellent communication, writing, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Experience working with associations, nonprofits, professional societies, or volunteer-driven organizations is preferred.
