Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Onsite Generation & Power Origination leads CleanSpark's outbound, greenfield path to power. This role proactively identifies generation assets and power-producer partners; leads feasibility assessments across land, gas supply, water, permitting, and interconnection; structures power purchase, tolling, and capacity agreements; develops project economics; and advances opportunities through negotiation to a structured handoff for execution.

The Senior Manager manages the Onsite Generation & Power Origination Associate and builds CleanSpark's outbound origination playbook. Success in this role requires a demonstrated deal-execution track record, technical depth in onsite generation, and the ability to run origination independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate behind-the-meter opportunities by identifying existing and planned generation assets, independent power producers, midstream gas counterparties, and other power-producer partners.
  • Lead feasibility assessments across land, gas supply, water, permitting, and interconnection for candidate sites and partnerships.
  • Structure and negotiate power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, and capacity agreements with generation counterparties.
  • Develop and defend project economics, including $/MWh and $/kW-month analysis, capital and operating cost scenarios, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Lead evaluation and selection of EPC partners for onsite generation projects.
  • Advance opportunities through negotiation and manage structured handoff to Engineering, Design & Construction for execution.
  • Manage and develop the Onsite Generation & Power Origination Associate and build the outbound origination playbook.
  • Represent CleanSpark with counterparties, advisors, and at industry forums.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

This role requires professionalism, executive presence, sound commercial and technical judgment, and the ability to drive complex transactions across a collaborative, fast-paced organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Energy, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and industry training will also be considered.
  • Eight to twelve or more years of experience in power project development, independent power producer origination, energy infrastructure, or behind-the-meter and onsite generation.
  • Demonstrated record of executed power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, or comparable structured energy transactions.
  • Deep familiarity with gas-fired and onsite generation technologies, development timelines, and risk allocation.
  • Strong project economics and financial modeling capability, including $/MWh, $/kW-month, and levelized cost analysis.
  • Experience managing EPC selection and coordinating with engineering and construction teams.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience powering data centers, mining, or other large flexible loads.
  • Established relationships across independent power producers, midstream gas, and energy developers.
  • Direct people-management experience.
