Job Description:We are searching for the best talent to join our team as the Senior Manager, Government Affairs & Policy Communications to be located in either New Brunswick, N.J. or Washington D.C
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Government Affairs & Policy (GA&P) Communications, will focus on advancing Johnson & Johnson's policy priorities through external communications. The Senior Manager will report to the Director, Enterprise Strategic Response, and closely partner with GA&P leaders, including the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Government Affairs and Policy, the Senior Director of Government Affairs Global Strategy, Operations, and Communications, and other leaders across Johnson & Johnson. The Senior Manager will lead and assist in developing plans, implementing programs and working with media to ensure the Company's positions are clearly understood by key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusted relationships and collaborate across multi-functional teams to proactively advance GA&P priorities.
- Prepare external communications strategies in response to policy and government inquiries.
- Mange the development and production of a variety of communications materials, including statements, talking points, press releases and digital content.
- Coordinate internal teams to align positions and messaging on emerging topics.
- Monitor and assess external comms and media environment related to GA&P priorities.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key media outlets, particularly policy and political trades.
- Manage agency relationships to support strategy development and execution.
- Maintain understanding of industry standards and emerging trends.
- Mentor colleagues and nurture an environment of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience working in communications, public affairs or media relations reflecting a strong record of success.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a proven ability to produce well-written and compelling documents on tight deadlines.
- Strong relationship management skills and experience working with partners cross-functionally and globally.
- Experience pitching and maintaining reporter relationships, particularly with politically focused and industry publications.
- Expert on communications trends and opportunities for GA&P collaborators.
- Proven record of counseling and advising senior management and business leaders.
- Passion for media and consuming news, in all forms, through a variety of channels.
- Takes initiative, anticipates next steps and sets high standards
- Experience managing third-party agency relationships.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :$122,000.00 - $212,750.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off - 80 hours per calendar year
