Full Job Description
The Senior Manager, Global Tax Planning leads and supports U.S. federal and international tax planning, with a primary focus on corporate restructuring, tax basis studies, and the application of the U.S. consolidated return regulations.

This role will partner with M&A, operating companies, corporate finance, and other tax colleagues to develop, model, and implement tax planning strategies and structuring alternatives for reorganizations, acquisitions, dispositions, and internal restructurings. While highly technical in nature, this role demands strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver practical advice in complex and often ambiguous situations.

Key Responsibilities

Global tax planning
  • Lead and support corporate restructuring, legal entity rationalization, and internal reorganizations, including the development of transaction step plans and the associated technical tax analysis.
  • Prepare and review tax basis studies, including stock and asset basis, inside and outside tax basis of US entities, CFCs and DREs, and tax attribute analysis.
  • Apply the U.S. consolidated return regulations and Subchapter C principles to planning projects, transaction structuring, and filing positions.
  • Perform tax modeling and quantitative analyses (e.g., stock basis and transaction-related calculations) to evaluate potential tax consequences and structuring alternatives.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies, researching complex technical issues and preparing technical memoranda to support filing positions.
  • Monitor changes in U.S. and international tax legislation and assess the impact on the business.


Operations support
  • Ensure tax basis calculations are auditable and traceable to corporate financial records, where applicable, and aligned with enterprise control and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with the tax accounting and tax compliance teams on tax risks and opportunities, and support U.S. tax compliance requirements related to business and tax transactions.
  • Assist with income tax audits and associated information requests.
  • Support internal teams by providing subject matter expertise and informal training.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in corporate income tax, with a focus on tax planning or transactional tax services.


Skills & Competencies

Technical Expertise
  • Expertise in corporate restructurings and legal entity reorganizations, including transaction step-plan development, technical analysis, and execution support.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing stock and asset tax basis studies.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. consolidated return regulations and Subchapter C.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. international tax rules, with experience applying them to tax planning, transaction modeling, and structuring analyses.
  • General knowledge of ASC 740, including its application to domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
  • Excellent tax planning, research, technical analysis, and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and applications (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot agents) and automation platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Power BI, Alteryx) to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and drive process improvements, with demonstrated business outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with CorpTax and other tax technology solutions.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 153,640.00 - 285,775.00
