What we needWe are looking for a Senior Manager of Electronic Hardware Engineering to join our Electrical Engineering - Bot Hardware team within our Hardware Engineering organization. Your job will be to provide hands-on technical leadership while building and developing a high-performing electrical hardware engineering team. You will bring deep expertise in digital and power electronics, guide complex products from concept through launch, and ensure our designs meet rigorous safety, quality, and compliance standards.
What we do The Electrical Engineering - Bot Hardware team is part of the Hardware Engineering organization, which develops the technology behind Symbotic's robotic systems. Our team owns the PCB-based electronic hardware used within these systems, partnering across engineering disciplines to deliver solutions that support safe, reliable, and high-performing robotic operation.
What you'll do - Provide hands-on technical leadership in the architecture, design, development, and validation of advanced digital and power electronic systems, with a primary focus on PCBs.
- Guide system architecture, hardware requirements, design reviews, and technical trade-off decisions for complex electronic systems.
- Remain hands-on in PCB bring-up, electrical validation, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of complex developmental and field issues.
- Establish scalable engineering processes, design standards, review practices, and validation methods that improve hardware quality and execution.
- Develop and mentor a team of electrical hardware engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, compliance, and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, mechanical, reliability, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support seamless integration and successful product delivery.
- Oversee products from concept through production and market launch, including up to 25% travel to support project, supplier, business, and customer needs.
What you'll need - Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical hardware design, including a minimum of three years in a technical leadership or people-management role.
- Deep hands-on expertise in complex PCB design, including digital and power electronics, high-speed interfaces, power delivery, signal integrity, and power integrity.
- Demonstrated expertise in EMC, electrical compliance, and product safety requirements, including experience designing and validating hardware against applicable global standards; familiarity with European CE requirements is preferred.
- Experience with PCB bring-up, electrical validation, compliance testing, and hands-on troubleshooting of complex hardware and system-level issues.
- Proven ability to build and develop engineering teams, establish effective hardware-development processes, and deliver complex projects against demanding timelines.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and external partnerships.
Our environment- Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $150,000.00 - $206,800.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
