Sr. Manager, Network & Field Maintenance

Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Network & Field Maintenance leads the team that keeps Neptune's live networks and AMI systems and products healthy after project handoff, the always-on counterpart to Project Delivery. This role covers both Network Ops & SLA management and Field Diagnostics, ensuring utilities' systems perform reliably long after go-live.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead live network and AMI health monitoring, endpoint and connectivity repair, and SLA management
  • Oversee endpoint monitoring across vendor portal, gateway and SIM provisioning, and firmware/OTA coordination
  • Direct field diagnostics: interference measurement, root-cause analysis, endpoint audits and optimization, and MIU/antenna changeouts
  • Investigate failed-product returns to distinguish true defects from installation or environmental issues, preventing unnecessary RMAs
  • Feed field performance insight back to engineering and product teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Build and manage a team capable of sustaining network health at scale across a growing installed base
  • Report on network health, SLA performance, and field diagnostic trends to Solutions Delivery leadership
  • Lead initiatives around customer interactions with new products and assist in the design and development of solutions.

  • Strong technical understanding of AMI/RF networks, endpoints, and field diagnostics

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience: 7+ years of experience in network operations, field engineering, or telecommunications/utility field maintenance, including experience with AMI, RF, or cellular network technologies, and 3+ years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LoRaWAN, cellular (NB-IoT/LTE-M), or other AMI network technologies
  • Familiarity with SLA management and vendor performance monitoring
  • Experience in the water, gas, or electric utility industry


Ways of Working: This is a hybrid position. The Sr. Manager, Network & Field Maintenance is expected to work on-site at a Neptune office at least three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.
