Senior Manager, CybersecuritySenior Manager, Production Operations & Data Center Security to lead security strategy and operational execution across production infrastructure, cloud environments, and data center platforms.

Reporting to A10's CISO, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving security controls and practices that protect both internal infrastructure and customer-facing services. This leader will lead cross-functional teams operating deeply within production environments, partnering closely with Production Operations, SRE, and Infrastructure Engineering to deliver comprehensive and measurable security outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings a strong builder mentality, deep technical background in production security, and a track record of scaling security practices through automation, mentorship, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Data Center Security Ownership
  • Oversee a mature customer-facing SOC team to ensure continuity of great customer service
  • Own security posture across production data centers, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructure
  • Partner with Infrastructure and SRE teams to embed security controls into platform design and deployment pipelines
  • Ensure security controls operate reliably under production performance and availability constraints
  • Lead security reviews of production architecture, traffic flows, and service dependencies
  • Drive hardening standards across compute, network, identity, and application control layers


Security Control Engineering & Operationalization
  • Own lifecycle of security controls including:
    • Detection controls
    • Preventative controls
    • Compensating controls
    • Response controls
  • Lead control validation and continuous verification programs.
  • Drive reduction of manual operational overhead through automation.
  • Ensure security telemetry is actionable, high fidelity, and aligned to response automation.


Incident Response & Production Event Leadership
  • Serve as senior incident commander for production security incidents
  • Build response workflows aligned to production change control and reliability engineering practices
  • Integrate security response into production incident management processes
  • Lead post-incident analysis focused on control improvement and systemic risk reduction


Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure Security
  • Lead security practices across public cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Partner with platform teams to secure:
    • Identity and access models
    • Network segmentation and service mesh security
    • Container and orchestration environments
    • Infrastructure-as-Code security controls
  • Drive continuous cloud security posture improvement


Automation, Scripting & Tooling
  • Lead development of automation and orchestration to:
    • Reduce alert triage time
    • Automate containment and enrichment
    • Improve control deployment consistency
  • Contribute directly to scripting and automation initiatives where appropriate
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code and security-as-code practices


Mentorship & Technical Leadership
  • Act as a player-coach across security and production teams.
  • Mentor engineers in secure production design and incident response practices.
  • Build growth paths for security engineers operating in production environments.
  • Foster culture of ownership, operational accountability, and continuous learning.


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or production security engineering.
  • 5+ years leading technical teams in production or security operations environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience operating in:
    • Data center infrastructure environments
    • Cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Hybrid infrastructure models
  • Demonstrated experience building or operating production security controls.
  • Strong scripting or automation experience (Python, Go, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience leading during high-severity production incidents.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Network and application-layer security
    • Identity and access security models
    • Detection and response workflows
    • Production reliability and change management principles


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in networking, application delivery, or infrastructure security product companies.

#LI-AN1 - Hybrid

Targeted compensation guideline: $200,000 - $215,000. Compensation will vary based on number of factors, including market demand for specific skills, role type, job level, and individual qualifications. Final salary offers are determined by considerations including, but not limited to, subject matter expertise, demonstrated skill level, relevant experience, geographic location, education, certifications, and training.
