Reporting to the Head, Total Rewards as part of the Talent and Total Rewards team, the
Senior Manager, Compensation acts as a trusted advisor, thought leader, and consultant to the organization on all aspects of employee broad-based compensation. In this role, you will lead and mentor a diverse team of compensation professionals, working closely with senior business leaders and HR leadership to ensure compensation strategy, pay structures, and program designs align with market practices and organizational growth objectives.
The ideal candidate for this role has previous experience leading a compensation team, with specific focus on implementing and administering best-in-class programs with measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and work collaboratively with business leaders and HR Business Partners to provide direction on complex compensation challenges and evolve programs with emerging business needs.

- Job Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities- Work with senior business leaders and HR leadership across the business to support the development and delivery of broad-based compensation programs, pay structures and compensation frameworks
- Lead ongoing enterprise education and support to business leaders, employees and HR stakeholders with respect to compensation plans, policies and processes that will drive maximum impact and value
- Leads the planning, communication, execution and administration of the year-end compensation process. Reviews and recommends enhancements to procedures and processes to identify opportunities for continued improvement and automation to enhance the manager and employee experience. Acts as the key resource for the broad-base compensation plans.
- Lead and responsible for the job evaluation process by providing oversight, guidance and job evaluation expertise to the compensation team. Partners in the review, analysis and evaluation of jobs, as well as validates recommendations from the team, business and HR stakeholders.
- Lead the annual market analyses and provide support to team on education to the business on how to interpret and incorporate market data into compensation decision making
- Leads the team on annual compensation market surveys, compiling data and developing analyses to assess and monitor potential competitive issues. Prepares preliminary observations and recommendations for review with stakeholders.
- Works with key stakeholders in finance with respect to salary planning, bonus accruals and payouts and other forecasting activities
- Lead the transformation of compensation related data, processes and analytics, as well as developing measurement tools to assess compensation program effectiveness of dashboards or summary reports on key metrics.
- Oversee the equity administration program, ensuring regulatory compliance and high data integrity while optimizing the participant experience through streamlined workflows and clear communication
- Actively participate in compensation projects, M&A initiatives and building and preparing Human Resource Committee materials through engaging multiple stakeholders across functions using well-established project planning and change management skills

- Drive best practices, promote knowledge sharing and close collaboration within the HR team to ensure consistent interpretation and administration of compensation programs
- Support the compensation strategy for business transformation or M&A activities
- Work collaboratively across HR functions to ensure that total rewards supports the overall desired employee experience and cultural priorities, including fairness, equity and inclusion
Must Have(s)- Minimum of 8+ years progressive experience in a similar compensation management related capacity
- Excellent thought leader and consulting skills; interacting with Business Leaders, HR stakeholders and other client groups with a strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organization issue
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, program design and processes
- Solid understanding of job levelling frameworks and job evaluation methodologies; and strong project management experience
- Proven people leader with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and compensation modeling ability, good judgment, independent and creative thinking with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Exceptional commitment to customer service with a strong sense of urgency
- Advanced MS Office skills or Google equivalent
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
Nice to Have(s)- Workday/HRIS system experience would be an asset
- Completion or progress toward CCP or CHRP designation
Salary Range: 140k/year - 150k/year CAD. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
