Full Job Description
The Senior Manager, Business Control supports ASM's core ALD business and new products KPUs, within a fast-paced semiconductor equipment environment. As a key finance partner to BU GMs, this role provides critical insights for decision making and drives process excellence for a team of high performing managers and analysts.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skill. As a people manager, this role is expected to not just be a high-performing individual contributor, but a developer of talent that can organize a team around common purpose and vision.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Decision Support
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to BU GMs for ALD and New Products
  • Translate data into clear insights, scenarios, and recommendations that influence decisions.
  • Drive financial performance discussions through rigorous portfolio management.

Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
  • Own full P&L support for the business, including revenue, margin, OpEx, and strategic investments.
  • Lead annual planning, monthly forecasting, and close process; communicate variances and key drivers of financial performance to senior management.
  • Prepare and maintain P&L projections and management reporting packages for monthly and quarterly reviews.

Governance and Controls
  • Maintain internal control procedures related to R&D capitalization.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and best practices; IFRS familiarity preferred.

Analytics, Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Automate recurring activities (e.g., data extraction, forecasting models, reporting workflows) to reduce manual effort.
  • Support design and implementation of new business process flows in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Contribute to cross-functional finance initiatives that elevate planning, reporting, and business insight. Proficiency with AI tools is ideal.

Team Management and Performance
  • Manage KPU controllers and financial analysts in monthly process execution. Set and communicate clear timeline, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Take ownership of annual goal-setting and quarterly OKRs for your team. Track progress and prioritize based on business need and team's workload.
  • Develop you team for long-term career objectives. Performance manage against those objectives on a quarterly basis and own rewards conversations at year end.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience, including FP&A, forecasting, and month-end close.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting insights to management.
  • Managerial experience in operations finance


Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Background in semiconductor, high technology, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with data visualization and advanced financial modeling.
