Position SummaryThe Senior Manager of Accounting is responsible for oversight of the accounting function and plays a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Senior Manager will report to the Senior Director, Finance and Assistant Controller and will be required to attend occasional in person meetings in the Parsippany, NJ office with a strong preference to be located in the Northeast.
Primary Responsibilities - Manage a monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close, including ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables and setting up the calendar of events for the close and year-end processes
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including cash/investment reporting and payroll
- Review semi-monthly and ad hoc payroll processing and, if needed, serve as the backup preparer
- Prepare monthly journal entries for complex areas such as clinical trial, incentive compensation accruals, prepaids, intercompany accounting, and other areas as assigned
- Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger (GL) in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee fixed assets and lease accounting, including review of supporting schedules for quarterly reviews
- Assist with monthly reporting for foreign subsidiaries and associated recording of entries
- Analyze, prepare, and review GL account reconciliations as assigned
- Assist with preparing supporting schedules for annual audit and quarterly reviews
- Contribute to the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain accounting and reporting requirements
- Approve, review, and maintain schedules and ad hoc financial reports
- Research, problem-solve, and respond to questions about the GL and financial reports
- Serve as primary contact for both internal and external auditors
- Assist in process and system improvement initiatives
- Assist with various miscellaneous projects as assigned (e.g., state and federal tax returns, 401k audits, etc.)

Experience- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; CPA a plus
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience highly preferred
- Payroll experience highly preferred
- Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, ADP, Concur, and Equity Edge a plus
Salary Statement:
Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background.
General Salary Range: $155,000 to $165,000
