The Mission
Leidos is seeking a Senior Lead Installation Technician to support a large enterprise IT contract. The Senior Lead Installation Technician will serve as a senior technical lead for end user technology refresh installation support of existing hardware, software, system configurations, and new system initiatives to ensure that the organization's information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably, and efficiently. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of customer capabilities across multiple projects, sites, and technical areas.
Primary Tasks
- Responsible for installation, configuration, decommissioning, and support of the customer’s end user devices. Lead installation teams while coordinating across multiple technical teams and interfacing with customers, Leidos program managers, and project managers. For entire projects, responsible for personnel and project management coordination during site installs. Assign personnel to various projects, direct their activities, evaluate their work, and provide technical oversight across concurrent installation efforts. Manage entire projects spanning multiple technical areas, working to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables. Provides primary interface with contractor support service groups and customer stakeholders.
- Develops and leads technical solutions to complex problems impacting multiple technical areas or disciplines.
- Provides installation and advanced troubleshooting support for desktops (thin and thick clients), printers, monitors, KVMs, phones, scanners, and related peripheral devices.
- Establishes and enforces cable management and installation standards to ensure secure, supportable, and professional implementations.
- Deploys a wide variety of new hardware, software, and upgrades to existing installations.
- Confirms required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other network security requirements.
- Prepares and maintains a wide range of documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems and operations.
- Plans, coordinates, and schedules installs to minimize disruption to customer operations and business workflow.
- Understands, implements, and follows processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Leads, mentors, and develops junior installation technicians and provides guidance to less experienced professionals.
- Serves as a team lead or task lead and may oversee multiple teams or installation workstreams.
- Communicates status, risks, and recommendations to customer and program leadership and supports process improvement and execution planning.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently as a primary customer interface, manage time effectively, prioritize problems, and provide reporting across multiple competing priorities and project demands.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, customer stakeholders, subcontractors, and technical teammates across multiple areas.
- Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment.
- Expert knowledge of IT and network security best practices and protocols, with the ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to complex operational environments.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) – IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).
- Education:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, Associate’s degree with 10 years, or High School Diploma with 12 years.
Required Clearance:
- Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
- An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a poly.
Travel
- Potentially up to 25% worldwide, majority in continental U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing teams of IT professionals.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale installation, technology refresh, or site deployment efforts.
- Experience coordinating across multiple technical teams and customer organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large projects or processes with moderate impact on program outcomes

Pay Range:Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
