Job Description

We're seeking a SeniorLead Engineer to direct multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering custom municipal and industrial treatment systems. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll be accountable for all engineering deliverables, guiding cross-functional teams of 25-30+ engineers through complex projects from conception to completion.

As a member of the project leadership team alongside the Project Manager and Sourcing Project Leader, you'll ensure technical excellence, schedule adherence, and budget compliance while serving as the primary technical face of Veolia to our customers. This is an ideal role for an experienced engineer who excels at building high-performing teams, communicating vision, and driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Team Management

• Direct multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) managing approximately 4,000 engineering hours monthly
• Build and mentor high-performing teams, delegate effectively, and facilitate collaboration across functions
• Establish project rhythms, meetings, and communication structures that drive clear action plans and outcomes
• Identify competency development needs and support team growth.

Engineering Delivery & Quality Assurance

• Oversee all engineering deliverables including P&IDs, equipment drawings, datasheets, plant/piping arrangements, instrumentation architecture, and design specifications
• Coordinate formal and peer review processes to ensure accuracy and quality of all technical work
• Manage engineering activities across internal and external functions using industry-standard tools (schedules, document lists, action items, risk registers, change orders)
• Ensure proper technical review of vendor selection and fabrication.

Commercial & Customer Management

• Support bid activities with technical reviews, labor estimates, and sub-contracting strategies
• Execute projects with balance of plant (BOP) and site installation scope
• Serve as primary customer liaison, resolving technical queries and managing expectations
• Coordinate technical requirements with suppliers and ensure timely information delivery
• Support Sourcing in vendor management and performance monitoring.

Project Coordination & Execution

• Manage project team resource budgets and allocate resources strategically
• Coordinate all engineering activities to maximize performance and project success
• Maintain critical project reporting and documentation
• Exercise sound judgment and professionalism when managing multiple shifting demands.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering field
• Minimum 10 years of project experience in engineering or a related field
• Impeccable planning, organization, and time management skills
• Clear, concise communication and presentation abilities
• Strong meeting facilitation skills with ability to set objectives and drive outcomes
• Team player with excellent judgment under changing conditions
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5-10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in water treatment, oil & gas, chemical, or power industries
• Experience with industrial processes and system engineering
• EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract experience
• Professional Engineer's License, or ability to obtain one within 1 year.

• Compensation is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: USD $118,000 - $130,000
