You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and Clinical teams to build high-quality mobile experiences that directly support patients and therapists. While iOS will be your primary focus, you'll also contribute across the stack-working with Python, TypeScript, and AWS to build and support the services powering our mobile experiences.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems across the stack, and wants to help shape both our mobile architecture and broader engineering foundation as NOCD grows.

What You'll Work On

  • Build and improve patient-facing iOS experiences used during ERP therapy.
  • Develop clinician tools and in-session features that support high-quality care.
  • Build and optimize real-time video and communication experiences.
  • Contribute to backend services and APIs using Python and TypeScript.
  • Work with AWS services to support mobile applications and backend infrastructure.
  • Improve app performance, reliability, architecture, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Clinical teams to solve meaningful user problems.
  • Help establish mobile and full-stack engineering practices, patterns, and code quality as the team grows.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional iOS development experience
  • Proven experience shipping and maintaining production iOS applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and deep hands-on experience with SwiftUI.
  • Experience with modern concurrency patterns including async/await and Combine.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance, testing, and release practices.
  • Professional experience with backend development using Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working across the frontend/backend boundary.
  • Working experience with AWS and cloud-based application architecture.
  • Ability to work independently and take features from concept through production.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in healthcare, digital health, or building HIPAA-compliant features.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, or similar.
  • Experience with microservices or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working at a startup or small, highly collaborative engineering organization.
  • Objective-C experience.
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD, developer tooling, or infrastructure

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k) match
  • 11 observed company holidays a year
  • PTO based on an accrual system
  • Engaging startup environment with an outstanding mission-driven team atmosphere
  • Downtown Chicago office with an on-site gym
  • Noto provides 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for the primary caregiver, and 6 weeks of fully paid leave for the secondary caregiver, for qualifying full-time employees.

The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. Actual pay will be based on the individual's qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for annual performance-based incentives tied to individual achievement and company-wide goals.
