Role description:Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Inspections Managerto support one of the
most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States - the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). In this role you will be assisting with field supervision, compliance, documentation, quality assurance, and coordination to ensure successful package delivery and adherence to all technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
We are working as the Delivery Partner along with team members and selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program
- one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation - and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.
The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.

Role accountabilities:The Inspections Manager will help lead a team of construction inspectors responsible for monitoring public infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects. They will help ensure that inspection services are performed efficiently and consistently while maintaining compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable federal, state and local requirements. This role is in Secaucus, NJ. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity to help ensure quality, safety and efficiency on a rail-related transportation project.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage, mentor, and provide technical guidance to construction inspection team.
- Conduct field visits and QA/QC reviews of inspection staff.
- Ensure construction activities comply with contract plans, specifications, standards, permits and applicable codes.
- Review inspector documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Coordinate with inspection staff, RE, contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders to resolve field issues.
- Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or construction risks.
- Promote consistent use of all required safety practices and quality standards.
- Support project close-out activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and record documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:- Experience: 15+ years of heavy highway, bridge, and roadway construction inspection experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge: Proficiency with project documentation software and reading complex engineering plans and contract documents.
- Education: High school diploma, though an associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management is an advantage.
- Preferred Certifications: OSHA 10, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade 1, Society of Asphalt Technologists (SAT), Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC). Amtrak Contractor training and certification will be required to work on the project.
