Full Job Description
This role will be located at our Centennial, Colorado facility.

We are seeking a hands-on HR Specialist to support employees and leaders within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, onboarding, attendance and leave administration, HR compliance, and workforce support.

The ideal candidate has experience working directly with hourly manufacturing employees and understands the unique demands of a production environment, including shift-based operations, high-volume hiring, attendance management, safety culture, and the need for responsive HR support on the plant floor.

What You'll Do..

Employee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for hourly manufacturing employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Build strong relationships with employees by maintaining a visible and approachable presence on the manufacturing floor.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, leave, and other HR-related matters.
  • Support supervisors and managers with employee relations issues, coaching, performance management, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct and document workplace investigations in partnership with HR leadership when appropriate.
  • Help promote a positive, respectful, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Partner with production leaders to understand staffing requirements and respond quickly to changing workforce needs.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding to ensure employees are prepared for success in the manufacturing environment
  • Maintain accurate onboarding documentation and ensure required employment forms and processes are completed
  • Support initiatives focused on improving new-hire retention and overall employee experience.

Attendance, Leave & HR Administration

  • Administer and track attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Support leave-of-absence processes, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other applicable state or company leave programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS and personnel files.
  • Process employee changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, payroll questions, and other HR programs, escalating issues as necessary.

Compliance & Manufacturing HR

  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required HR documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Operations, and leadership on employee matters related to workplace safety and workers' compensation.
  • Build, develop, and support HR practices across multiple shifts and production schedules.
  • Assist with HR reporting and workforce metrics, including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, vacancies, and retention.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to HR processes and employee experience.

You have...

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience considered

Experience

  • 5 years of Human Resources related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with hourly employees and front-line supervisors.
  • Experience managing complex HR operations processes, including onboarding, employee lifecycle management, HRIS administration, and compliance activities
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and applying HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations
  • Experience administering FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and attendance programs.
  • Experience leading HR process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong ability to build relationships and credibility, and influence employees, managers, and senior leaders across the organization
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to analyze HR data, develop workforce insights, and use metrics to support business decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change quickly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS and/or applicant tracking systems.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issues security clearance is required. In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$119,500 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
