  • Create Human Factor Verification and Validation plans according to CNSC REGDOC 2.5.1.
  • Conduct Human Factor Function and Task analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Prepare Human-System interface designs that enhance usability and safety.
  • Conduct usability testing and validation exercises to ensure effectiveness.
  • Perform workload analysis and other Human Factors Engineering analysis techniques as needed.

Overview

The Human Factors Engineering department is responsible for providing engineering support from a Human Factors perspective to the design of nuclear power generation equipment, digital instrumentation and control systems for projects involving control, monitoring, and operator displays on the nuclear island for existing customers and new builds.

Your role
  • Will be leading Human Factors and Ergonomics work packages, managing technical delivery to project programs as well as leading and contributing to AtkinsRéalis bids and initiatives.
  • Responsible for Development of Human Factors Engineering Program Plans per REGDOC-2.5.1 and CSA N290.12
  • Development of Human Factor Verification and Validation plans per CNSC REGDOC 2.5.1.
  • Conducting Human Factor Function and Task analysis.
  • Preparing Human-System interface design.
  • Conducting usability testing and validation exercises.
  • Performing Workload analysis and other HFE analysis techniques as required.


About you

  • University degree in Engineering, Human Factors (HF) & Ergonomics or Applied Psychology or related field. Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in the use of Human Factors methods and techniques.
  • Experience in delivering HF work packages within high hazard industries such as Nuclear.
  • Experience in managing and planning HF delivery to projects (HF Integration).
  • Experience in working within other 'Regulated' industries.
  • Knowledge in the application of Human Factors standards and guidelines, specifically the Human-System Interface Design Review Guidelines (NUREG-0700 by NRC)
  • Knowledge in the application of HF Integration in the context of Safety Case development, Quantitative Human Reliability Assessment, Training Needs Analysis will be an added asset.
  • Knowledge in the application of Nuclear procedures and guidelines
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
