Position DescriptionSDOT is looking for two collaborative, resourceful, and detail-driven
Senior Grant Funds Coordinators (Senior Project Funds & Agreements Coordinators) to join our Finance & Administration Division. In these key roles, you'll take the lead on complex Federal and State grants administration that keeps our transportation system moving and our major projects funded.

Job Responsibilities- Prepare scheduled grant reports (quarterly, semi-annual, or annual) for state and federal agencies, including WSDOT, PSRC, FMSIB, FTA, FHWA, FRA, and USDOT.
- Serve as SDOT's primary point of contact for grantors, managing technical communications such as expenditure updates, billing status, and any changes to project scope, schedule, name, or costs.
- Lead SDOT's quarterly grant check-ins with WSDOT, providing clear, comprehensive updates on all WSDOT- and FHWA-funded projects.
- Respond quickly to requests from state and federal partners for information on project progress, spending, and grant obligation timelines.
- Prepare materials for grant acceptance and related budget appropriations during annual and supplemental budget cycles.
- Work with the City Budget Office and Citywide Accounting to establish grant funding sources and resolve any budget coding issues that arise.
- Draft standalone legislation-such as ordinances and fiscal notes-for time-sensitive grant acceptance or appropriation needs submitted to the Seattle City Council.
- Monitor grant budgets monthly, compare actual spending to planned budgets, and clearly explain any variances during internal monthly check-ins and quarterly financial reviews.
- Develop complete grant obligation packages to support the execution of agreements with granting agencies.
- Support department goals related to diversity, equity, and social justice in alignment with the City's Race and Social Justice Initiative.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Education:- Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration, finance, economics, or related field.
Experience:- Three (3) years ofprofessional experience in financial analysis, project management, grant administration, inter-agency agreements, or contract administration
OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties.
Though not requirements, strong candidates will have some of the following experience or are able to describe comparable experience:- Strong communication and coordination skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze, present, and communicate information clearly at all levels.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to actively manage multiple processes.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base.
Other Requirements:Work Environment:- Work is typically performed in a hybrid work environment in which a minimum of 3 days of work is completed in a City office, and 2 days of work is completed remotely in a regular 40-hour work week.
