Job Summary:

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing geotechnical engineering projects, providing technical expertise in subsurface investigations, foundation design, earth retention systems, slope stability analysis, and construction support services. This role oversees project planning, execution, and quality control while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer serves as a technical mentor to junior staff, develops client relationships, and supports business development initiatives.

Duties:
• Lead geotechnical investigations, including planning field exploration programs, laboratory testing, and site characterization.
• Analyze geotechnical data and prepare engineering reports, recommendations, and design calculations.
• Design and evaluate shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, embankments, slopes, pavements, and ground improvement solutions.
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for geotechnical projects.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams throughout project development and execution.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations.
• Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase consultation and observation services.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support proposal preparation, client presentations, and business development activities.

Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Must of 8-15+ years of progressive experience
  • Must have a North Carolina Professional Engineering License and obtain South Carolina within 90 days of hire.


Certifications/Licenses:

Valid Driver's License
