Full Job Description

Wilson & Company is looking for an experienced Geospatial Project Manager to lead delivery on LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GIS projects — both existing client accounts and new work you help bring in. This role is primarily about running projects well: managing scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality, and being the client's trusted point of contact throughout delivery. Alongside that, you'll spend a meaningful slice of your time — roughly a quarter — on business development: nurturing client relationships toward repeat work, supporting proposals, and helping win the next project for accounts you manage. You'll have solid technical grounding in geospatial production and an established production team to deliver alongside, so your focus stays on running the project and the client relationship rather than production mechanics.

What You'll Do
  • Lead project delivery from award through closeout on both existing accounts and newly won work: scope, schedule, budget, technical direction, and QC.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects and accounts, managing expectations and communication throughout delivery.
  • Manage project financials: budgets, fee tracking, earned value, margin, and utilization, reporting status to leadership.
  • Coordinate with the existing LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GIS production team to staff and execute projects, providing technical direction and quality control.
  • Dedicate roughly a quarter of your time to business development: identifying opportunities on existing accounts, supporting proposal development, and helping pursue new work.
  • Build client relationships during delivery that lead to repeat business and expanded scopes.
  • Develop project schedules and resource plans, coordinating across production, survey, and CADD staff as needed.
  • Provide technical review and troubleshooting on LiDAR, imagery, and GIS deliverables to ensure they meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with other service lines (transportation, transmission, water/wastewater, environmental) to identify cross-selling opportunities on your accounts.
  • Mentor project staff assigned to your projects, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, risk assessments, and change management communications to clients and leadership.

What You Bring
  • Solid technical background in LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GIS, with hands-on project delivery experience.
  • History of project development from early client interaction through proposal, award, and delivery.
  • Track record managing project and operational financial metrics (budgets, margins, utilization, forecasting).
  • Strong client management skills, with a track record of building trust, managing expectations, and sustaining long-term relationships.
  • Some business development experience — comfortable identifying opportunities and supporting proposals, even if BD hasn't been your primary role.
  • Self-starter who can operate independently while collaborating effectively across a matrixed team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to clients and leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Typically 7+ years of progressive experience in geospatial project delivery, with prior project management responsibility.
  • Professional licensure or certification (PLS, GISP, or equivalent) a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, project locations, and industry events as needed.
