Responsibilities

  • Build the annual budget and forecast for fringe defaults using historical data and trends
  • Monitor performance against forecasts to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of fringe defaults. This position is responsible for developing the annual fringe default budget, maintaining ongoing forecasts, performing default assessments, and preparing reporting and variance analyses. The role identifies key trends, financial risks, and opportunities to improve fringe recovery and overall financial performance and serves as a trusted financial resource on fringe matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Build the annual budget and forecast for fringe defaults, developing accurate projections from historical results, current trends, and anticipated changes.
  • Monitor performance against forecast to surface trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial results.
  • Assess fringe defaults to quantify financial exposure and find opportunities for stronger fringe recovery.
  • Apply strong critical thinking to assess situations independently, form recommendations, and confidently defend your conclusions.
  • Get behind the data drivers to provide analysis and follow-up support to sector finance and key internal customers.
  • Support the annual CPI rate files, ensuring contractual rate adjustments are accurately incorporated.
  • Serve as the go-to financial resource for fringe-related client and field questions, deliver timely analysis, supporting documentation, and clear recommendations.
  • Own the financial side of contract compliance and contractual liability, reviewing contract terms, fringe provisions, and rate escalations, and building the procedures and controls that keep forecasts, reporting, and business decisions aligned to client contracts.
  • Drive process improvements and automation that make fringe forecasting and reporting more accurate, efficient, and transparent.
  • Partner across Compass Group with Benefits and Compensation, Risk Management, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning, Payroll, and sector financial leadership, building relationships and visibility throughout the organization.
  • Take on special projects for the Strategic Analytics team and senior leadership that broaden your impact across the business, handling confidential HR and benefits data with discretion throughout.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience (public accounting and/or industry)
  • Strong communication skills; experience with cross-sector/corporate communication; ability to influence when no direct authority exists
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA/CPA Candidate
  • Blackline, SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, Power BI or SQL experience is a plus
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Process automation experience
  • Master's degree in accounting
