Full Job Description
The SeniorFinancial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Company's accounting, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, this role will assist in delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting operational and corporate teams across Canada.
The successful candidate will work closely with various business partners to analyze financial performance, investigate variances, and contribute to effective decision-making. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with month-end accounting activities, including revenue and deferred revenue accounting, IFRS 9 provision analysis, and expense accruals.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial results, including P&L reporting and management reporting packages.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and working papers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, investigate variances, explain financial results, and provide actionable business insights.
- Investigate and report on variances against budget, forecast, and prior period results.
- Perform revenue and deferred revenue analysis, ensuring compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisions, including assessment of key assumptions and drivers.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes through financial analysis and modeling.
- Calculate and analyze costs associated with revenue-generating activities to support profitability and margin analysis.
- Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including the preparation of supporting documentation and responses to audit inquiries.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy, controls, efficiency, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards to support business performance monitoring.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as required.
What experience do you have?
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and the ability to research and apply accounting standards.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with business stakeholders.
- Retail, financial services, consumer lending, or publicly traded company experience is considered an asset.

$93,500.00 - $110,000.00 CAD (includes base salary and bonus)
