Full Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support revenue and gross margin planning and to serve as the dedicated finance partner to our performance marketing and brand marketing teams. Sitting at the intersection of finance, business planning, analytics, merchandising, and marketing, this role helps the business understand what's driving growth, how marketing investments are performing, and where to put the next dollar. The Senior Financial Analyst delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.
HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT
Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes.
Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams)
• Partner closely with performance marketing and brand marketing teams as their primary finance counterpart, building trusted relationships and influencing how investment decisions are framed and made.
• Collaborate with analytics and data teams to source clean inputs, validate planning assumptions, and improve the quality of the data the business plans against.
• Contribute to a planning culture that continuously raises the bar on model architecture, reporting cadence, and analytical rigor across finance and its cross-functional partners.
Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)
• Support revenue and gross margin planning that ensures Fanatics Commerce can deliver the right product, at the right price, to fans across all channels and leagues.
• Build models that connect demand drivers, product and merchandising mix, and net demand to shipped sales conversion to P&L outcomes - keeping fan demand at the center of the planning process.
• Deliver variance analysis that explains what happened at the league and channel level and translates that story into forward-looking implications for the fan experience.
• Provide financial perspective on league performance and marketing effectiveness to help the business invest where fans are most engaged.
Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)
• Ask the questions nobody has asked yet - digging into data to surface insights on marketing performance, margin dynamics, and channel efficiency that change how leadership makes decisions.
• Build ad hoc analyses and business cases on marketing performance, margin deep dives, and investment tradeoffs that are clear, actionable, and shaped for non-finance audiences.
• Explore and apply AI tools and automation to improve forecast accuracy, streamline recurring processes, and raise the ceiling on what the finance team can produce.
• Improve the planning process itself, from model architecture and assumption documentation to reporting design and analytical frameworks.
Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)
• Own revenue and gross margin planning end to end - annual plan, long range plan, monthly reforecasts, and daily targets - with a high standard for accuracy and timeliness.
• Partner with performance marketing on spend planning, efficiency metrics, channel net demand projections, and incrementality questions, bringing structure and rigor to complex investment decisions.
• Support brand marketing on budget planning, spend tracking, and measurement of longer-horizon investments where results are harder to attribute.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting with clear variance analysis - what happened, why, and what it means going forward - consistently and on time.
AI & DIGITAL CAPABILITY
We are building a future-ready organization. This role is expected to:
• Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes
• Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance
• Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working
• Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING
Required Qualifications:
• 4-6+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, business planning, strategic finance, or a comparable analytical role, with a track record of turning analysis into clear recommendations for non-finance partners.
• Strong financial modeling skills and real fluency in Excel, with the ability to build and maintain models that connect operational drivers to P&L outcomes.
• Experience partnering with analytics or data teams and comfort working with large, imperfect datasets; SQL experience is a strong plus.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and with incomplete data, paired with the judgment to know when an estimate is good enough to move the business forward.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, consumer products, or sports is a plus, as is exposure to marketing finance, media measurement, or marketing mix modeling.
• Genuine curiosity - a tendency to follow the thread when a number looks off rather than moving on, and a desire to understand product, merchandising, and marketing strategy well enough to have an opinion.
• Demonstrated ability to shift gears quickly and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
WORK LOCATION
Hybrid: The primary place of performance of this role is the Company's office located in Jacksonville, FL, subject to the Company's current hybrid work policy. This role currently requires in-office presence Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
