Full Job Description
The Senior Facility Quality Manager provides leadership to establish and maintain product quality through sanitation, ingredient, packaging, and quality-system management. The role serves as the guardian of quality compliance and challenges functions across the value chain to drive continuous improvement, support Operations, Supply Chain, and Consumer Services, and foster a cross-functional culture of quality, compliance, and performance. The role leads the development, implementation, and management of Quality Assurance programs and activities. It provides technical expertise and support to ensure compliance with QMS/FSSC 22000, regulatory requirements, product-quality standards, and food-safety requirements, using audits, process evaluation, and trend analysis to advance continuous improvement and business objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES Health, Safety & Environment - Maintain, promote, and strengthen health and safety standards while leading by example. - Perform all duties in compliance with Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures. - Promote behavioral safety improvements and support SHE compliance in all Operations Quality activities. Quality & Food Safety - Direct the development, implementation, and administration of Quality Assurance activities across all phases of factory production in alignment with Nestlé Quality Systems. - Monitor quality metrics and KPIs, assess system effectiveness, report results to management, and implement improvements. - Promote quality awareness and ownership across the value chain. - Ensure compliance with internal and external audit programs, including FSSC 22000, NQMS, and NGA/Market audits. - Ensure effective operation of HACCP and Food Safety Teams. - Drive hygiene and NGMP programs across the factory and external warehouse. - Identify and apply standard practices from within the facility and the broader network. - Serve as the factory Quality Pillar and champion NCE quality activities. - Lead Quality Assurance projects from inception through final reporting and implementation. Stakeholder & Technical Support - Provide technical support and resources to co-manufacturers and affiliates, ensuring continued compliance with formal product-release requirements. - Support Divisional TAG, PTC/R&D, Engineering, Vendors, Consumer Services, Sales & Marketing, and Supply Chain on quality-related matters. - Participate in product reviews at factory and corporate levels. - Support supplier-quality management through vendor audits, guidance, and follow-up on action plans. - Participate on the Factory Crisis Management Team. - Partner with Corporate Quality, Consumer Services, Marketing, and Brand Management to investigate and communicate consumer-complaint trends and resolutions. Regulatory Compliance - Communicate new and updated regulatory policies throughout the facility. - Support local, state, and federal agencies when requested by Divisional Quality Assurance. Culture & People Leadership - Build an open, productive culture in which employees take pride and responsibility in their work. - Keep relevant personnel informed and involved so teams remain aligned with current and future objectives. - Communicate effectively across functions and organizational levels. - Supervise department personnel with a strong emphasis on coaching and development. Business Performance - Lead monthly KPI reviews and contribute to the achievement of annual facility business goals. - Lead monthly MQR reviews for the facility. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline, required. - Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP, GMPs, allergen controls, sanitary design and controls, pest control, food regulations, specifications, analytical and microbiological laboratory methods, and basic food technology. - Knowledge of quality systems and principles, including microbiological and hygiene monitoring. - Understanding of financial targets and laboratory budget structures. - Proficiency with Windows-based applications, including Word and Excel; Access is preferred. Experience - Minimum of seven years of related quality-management experience, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer goods. - Three to four years of factory Quality Assurance experience, preferably at the Quality Assurance Manager level. - Experience implementing food-safety and/or quality programs is strongly preferred. - SAP and Trace software experience is preferred. - Nestlé NQMS, FSSC 22000, or comparable food-safety and quality-systems training is preferred. - Statistical analysis experience is preferred. Salary: $140,775.30 to $191,918.00 per year Bonus Eligibility: Yes The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
