This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Facilities Architect licensed in Florida to join our team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing architectural design for complex industrial manufacturing and aerospace facilities, with emphasis on developing construction documents and ensuring compliance with building codes and life safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of comprehensive construction documents for aerospace and industrial manufacturing facilities
  • Sign and seal architectural drawings and specifications as the Architect of Record
  • Perform and document detailed life safety analyses for complex facilities
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
  • Ensure code compliance and integration of life safety systems in architectural designs
  • Lead technical design reviews and quality control processes
  • Mentor junior staff on technical documentation and regulatory requirements
  • Interface with regulatory authorities during permitting and approval processes
Required Qualifications
  • Current Florida Architectural License
  • Ability and willingness to obtain architectural licensure in additional states as projects require
  • 10+ years of architectural experience with progressive responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience with life safety analysis for industrial and/or aerospace facilities
  • Proficiency in developing construction documents for complex technical projects
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, NFPA standards, and life safety requirements
  • Experience signing and sealing drawings as Architect of Record
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with aerospace facilities, launch infrastructure, or specialized industrial environments
  • LEED accreditation
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices for industrial applications
  • Familiarity with federal and DoD facility requirements
Education
  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
