Title: Senior Estimator - Transmission & Distribution

Location: Canby, OR (Office-Based w/ Occasional Site Travel)

Role Overview

Based out of our headquarters in Canby, OR, this position provides technical estimating leadership on complex transmission and distribution line projects across the nation. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all technical requirements throughout the bidding phase, working closely with engineering teams, project managers, and client representatives to ensure accurate, win-ready estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating & Cost Analysis: Lead complete cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and resource allocation models for large-scale, fast-paced transmission and distribution projects.
  • Proposal & Bid Management: Develop comprehensive bid packages, align technical scopes, and manage bid schedule milestones from initial RFP through final submission.
  • Technical Client Engagement: Serve as a key technical liaison during pre-bid meetings and clarification reviews with utility project owners and engineering partners.
  • Constructability & Site Evaluations: Conduct site visits and field assessments to evaluate right-of-way conditions, access routes, and constructability risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with procurement, project management, and field operations to ensure seamless project handoffs post-award.


Qualifications & Requirements
  • Estimating Experience: 8+ years of progressive utility construction estimating experience, including at least 5 years acting as a lead estimator on major transmission and/or distribution line projects.
  • Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent industry field experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word); familiarity with specialized utility estimating tools, MS Project, or Primavera P6 is highly beneficial.
  • Communication & Detail: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to technical detail and analytical precision.
  • Location & Licensing: Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of our Canby, OR headquarters or be willing to relocate. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically to client meetings and project sites required.
