Full Job Description
As an Estimator, your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Estimators review bid requirements for projects that are approximately $500K or less, ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted for.
Critical for success are the abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. A strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers has been a key success to this role. This position provides assistance and direction to other team members but has no management responsibilities.
The salary range for this position is $138,000 - $200,000 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position. Pay will be determined based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
What it takes:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from a 4 year college or university
- Experience in utility construction estimating
- At least 5 years of substation estimating experience
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
