Job Summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in Solar/PV projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for large-scale solar photovoltaic installations, ensuring bid integrity and contributing to project success.

Job Responsibilities

* Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, including but not limited to labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
* Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to accurately assess project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities.
* Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for all solar system components, including modules, inverters, racking, BOS, civil works, and electrical balance of plant.
* Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
* Collaborate with engineering, project management, and business development teams to optimize project design and cost-effectiveness.
* Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current market conditions, material costs, labor rates, and construction methodologies relevant to solar PV projects.
* Lead bid reviews and participate in client presentations, effectively communicating the scope, assumptions, and breakdown of estimates.
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining project quality and performance.
* Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
* Ensure all estimates adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Job Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years specifically focused on large-scale solar PV projects.
* Proven track record of successfully estimating and winning significant solar projects.
* Expert proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Thorough understanding of solar PV system components, installation methods, and relevant industry standards (NEC, IEEE, UL).
* Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Targeted Salary - $135,000-165,000
