Responsibilities
LiRo-Hill is seeking a highly qualified Senior Environmental Engineer or Geologist who is a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area to support a diverse portfolio of redevelopment and environmental projects. This role is ideal for a proven seller-doer with substantial experience in contaminated site remediation, environmental characterization, and redevelopment initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong client-facing capabilities, experience preparing technical proposals and planning documents, and a solid understanding of MassDEP regulations, policies, and the broader New England environmental market. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic business development efforts across both public sector clients.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them make informed decisions regarding environmental remediation and the redevelopment of contaminated properties. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting and expanding the environmental practice through business development, internal project leadership, and team management. Key responsibilities include establishing project teams, developing project initiation documents, preparing schedules, defining scopes of work, and developing cost estimates. You will also ensure that project teams are appropriately staffed with the technical expertise necessary to deliver high-quality results while maintaining cost efficiency.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring the timely resolution of project issues and scope changes. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee project financial performance by managing budgets effectively and communicating cost impacts as needed. This role also includes providing technical leadership and oversight for field investigations, site assessments, remediation system installation, and performance evaluation activities.
Qualifications
- Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineering or Geology license preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental remediation services and redevelopment projects.
- Demonstrated project management and budgeting experience.
- Proven success in client development, acquisition, and retention.
