The Senior Environmental and Energy Engineer leads the development and implementation of advanced engineering solutions to promote environmental sustainability, enhance energy efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. This senior-level role involves providing technical leadership, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and driving initiatives that reduce environmental impacts and optimize energy use in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) objective.

Key Responsibilities:

- Environmental Sustainability
  • Lead the design and execution of strategies to reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices.
  • Oversee environmental assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and DoD regulations.
  • Manage and improve environmental management systems (EMS) and sustainability programs.

- Energy Efficiency
  • Develop and implement advanced energy optimization plans, including renewable energy integration and energy conservation measures.
  • Conduct complex energy audits and provide actionable recommendations to reduce energy consumption.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging energy technologies for potential application in DoD projects.

- Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and energy-related regulations, including DoD-specific requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in environmental and energy policies, advising stakeholders on strategic compliance approaches.

- Technical Leadership and Collaboration
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and government representatives, to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead proposal development and deliver technical presentations for DoD projects and initiatives.

- Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on environmental and energy engineering topics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and technical forums.


Manager Defined Field:
  • This position will report to the Senior Director, Engineering and will consist of duties such as utility system evaluation, analysis and utility system design and construction. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to multiple DoD programs like installation energy and water plans (IEWP), Utility privatization analysis (UP), and energy security assessments (ESA). Other responsibilities include supporting and preparing specifications and developing test methods, data analysis, report writing, creating graphs and charts from information and engineering calculations. The individual should also be comfortable presenting technical summaries of findings to peers.
  • Candidate must be able to perform system reviews of existing or newly designed applications. Candidate will be required to work closely with project teams consisting of other engineering professionals, CAD specialists, and mission support personnel. Candidate will be required to assist in scheduling tasks and estimate labor hours and materials costs for design development and prototyping.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, or regulatory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and DoD environmental and energy regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or Environmental Professional (EP).
  • Extensive experience with renewable energy systems and technologies.
  • Expertise in DoD-specific environmental and energy programs and initiatives.
  • Advanced experience with environmental management systems (EMS), energy audits, and sustainability reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.
