Full Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The position offers the opportunity to be a Mechanical Engineer and work on a variety of growth initiatives in the electric and ICE vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about powertrain system design, supplier interactions, design and release of powertrain systems, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Subject matter expert in 1 or more subsystems in mechanical vehicle architecture (motors, engines, CVTs, transaxles).
  • Develop and maintain a vehicle and component mechanical specification and qualification plan.
  • Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change notice and specifications.
  • Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities.
    • Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.
    • Develop technology roadmaps and strategies that clearly articulate how we are going to continuously win in chosen markets.
    • Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mentor designers, lab technicians and other team members.
  • Understand and influence regulatory standards that affect your product.
  • Develop and drive cross functional team to scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
  • Effectively self-manage large projects.
  • Expert in Problem solving techniques (9-step, 8D, etc.).
  • First point of contact within engineering regarding customer issues.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required

Expert in at least 1 of the following areas is beneficial, but not a necessity:
  • Mechanical design and analysis of powertrains (electric motors, ICEs, CVTs, transaxles)

Experience:
  • 7+ years' experience is recommended.
