SummaryThe Central Mask (CM) team within Micron's Manufacturing Central Team is responsible for enabling high-quality reticle delivery across Micron's global fabrication network. The team partners closely with Technology Development, Mask Technology Center (MTC), OPC, tapeout, and manufacturing organizations to ensure reticle readiness, process excellence, and continuous improvement. Position OverviewAs a CM (Central Mask) Engineer, you will drive reticle quality, process optimization, and operational excellence across global manufacturing sites. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define reticle specifications, improve fracture and tapeout workflows, resolve technical challenges, and implement best-known methods. This role also leads strategic improvement initiatives to support manufacturing growth, leveraging data-driven decision making, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, cycle time, quality, and business outcomes!
Responsibilities- Define and maintain reticle specifications in partnership with the Mask Technology Center (MTC) and manufacturing stakeholders across technology nodes
- Drive continuous improvement of fracture, tapeout, and reticle preparation processes to improve quality, cycle time, and throughput
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve reticle, OPC, metrology, and process integration issues
- Lead improvement projects that support manufacturing scalability, operational efficiency, and high-volume manufacturing growth
- Evaluate process and tool performance, identify optimization opportunities, and implement solutions that reduce cost and rework
- Support implementation and adoption of best-known methods (BKMs) across global teams and manufacturing sites
- Leverage AI-enabled tools, automation, and intelligent workflows to improve productivity, project execution, and operational effectiveness
- Mentor team members and share technical knowledge to strengthen organizational capability and drive consistent execution
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, mask operations, lithography, process engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong understanding of reticle manufacturing, fracture techniques, CD metrology, and tapeout processes
- Proven experience leading technical projects and driving process improvements in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- Experience with reticle manufacturing, mask data preparation, OPC, fracture flows, tapeout operations, or related semiconductor processes
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments and technology transfer activities
- Experience applying AI tools, workflow automation, or advanced analytics to improve engineering productivity and business processes
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical improvement initiatives across multiple sites
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex process interactions and drive data-driven decisions
- Experience implementing best-known methods (BKMs) and standardizing processes across global organizations
