Title: Sr. Engineer (Electrical) Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical projects, including Life Sciences, Industrial, Commercial, and more, contributing to innovative, resilient designs that shape the built environment. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will lead the design of electrical systems-including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, and renewable energy systems-from concept through construction. Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work, collaborating with clients, architects, and other engineers, and ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements. Job Responsibilities: - Read and interpret construction drawings, technical drawings, schematics, and computer generated reports. - Creates sketches and system schematics for complicated electrical power systems. - Prepare technical reports, write feasibility studies and specifications and code compliance documentation. - Attend project and client meetings, collaborating with owners, architects, and developers. - Review and analyze building codes and industry standards, working with code officials as necessary. - Review contractor submittals to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes. - Able to travel to sites, when necessary, construction inspections, and produce observation reports and punch lists for outstanding or non-conforming work. - Provide direction and guidance to junior engineers and designers on electrical system layouts, including mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, UPS rooms, and generator and equipment yards. Requirements Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or (from an ABET accredited school). - A minimum of five years of experience in electrical system design and equipment specification, production, and construction administration within engineering consulting industry. - Experience designing systems for life science, mission critical, commercial, or institutional projects. - Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks. - Solid understanding of applicable building codes (IBC, IECC, NEC, etc.). - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Analytical and problem-solving skills. - Revit and AutoCAD proficiency - Self-motivated, team player with a proactive, hands-on approach. - Experience mentoring junior staff, in addition to directing and reviewing their work. - Computer skills (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficiency in ETAP or SKM Power Tools, preferred.
