Full Job Description
SENIOR ENGINEER
FLSA Classification: Exempt

Job Summary:
The Senior Engineer will be accountable for all aspects of projects from project conception to design and FAA certification, through manufacturing and first customer adoption.
The Senior Engineer will work alongside other company Senior Engineers and Certification FAA DER's along with interacting daily with the full engineering staff. They will also interact routinely with all other departments within ADPma in support of projects.

Team Leadership:
• Provides coaching, mentoring, and guidance to other team members.
• Fosters a motivated and productive team culture.

Engineering:
• Manages the full engineering process of various aircraft components in accordance with FAA regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices, maintaining a strong commitment to safety and airworthiness.
• Develops and implements plans and strategies, including the establishment of project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to meet project schedules.
• Participates in weekly engineering meetings to maintain project/certification progression.
• Grow to become the SME and lead designer on all things related to their projects.
• Responsible for education throughout the company on all things related to their projects.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment throughout the organization.
• Develops and maintains detailed documentation related to engineering processes, including manuals, standards, procedures, and record keeping.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:
• Manages and coordinates, in close collaboration with company FAA DER's, all outside DO-160 testing including budgeting, scheduling and interfacing with outside test facilities with regards to development of their projects.
• Manages project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization to ensure cost-effective and timely project delivery.
• Stays up-to-date with the latest developments in the FAA regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.
• Stays up-to-date with the company's products and industry trends.
• Reports directly into Engineering Leadership
• Prepares accurate reports according to the expectations of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Education, Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• A master's degree or relevant certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in mechanical aerospace parts.
• Proven experience in metallurgical materials science, especially high performance alloys.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven team leadership and development experience.
• Knowledge of industry trends. Industry specific experience preferred.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite software.

Working Conditions:
• Operates in both an office setting and a warehouse setting. May experience a variety of temperatures and other clement conditions throughout the workday.
• Low to moderate noise level.
• On-site location required (Tri-Cities Tennessee).
• Moderate travel to suppliers and customers as required.

Cognitive & Physical Demands:
• Daily use of professional judgement in alignment with Company values and policies, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Frequently: Computer use, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, grasping, reaching, lifting, and standing,
• Able to lift 25 pounds at a time periodically.
