Key job responsibilities
- Members of the team are responsible for software related to machine learning hardware at all points in the hardware life cycle.
- Working with silicon design and hardware design teams across EC2
- Developing software which can be maintained, improved upon, documented, tested, and reused.
- Monitoring, debugging, and improving a 2+ million chip fleet of machine learning accelerators
A day in the life
The MLA Technology team was formed to focus on server and accelerator debug, testing, qualification, and manufacturing. No software is too low level for us. No software is too high level for us. At a high-level our goal is to find ways to help the organization scale though the use of software and automation as it relates to specific hardware technologies.
Our team is comprised of excellent software engineers who are able to put on their hardware caps and excellent hardware engineers who are able to put on their software caps. We blend worlds between hardware and software, focusing on fixing problems for a living fleet of accelerators at scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing
- Experience as a technical lead, systems engineer, or technical program manager with significant experience in complex systems
- Experience working with PCIe devices
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
