Senior Electrical Estimator
PROCON E&C is hiring a Senior Electrical Estimator who can own estimates from first look to final number - someone who works independently, carries several bids at once, and makes our estimating process sharper along the way.
What you'll do
Prepare complete electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects: quantity takeoffs, labor units, material pricing, and subcontractor/vendor quotes
Source and track private-sector bid opportunities through platforms such as BuildingConnected, Dodge, and ConstructConnect, and recommend which projects to pursue (bid/no-bid)
Review drawings and specifications, identify scope gaps and risks, and write clear clarifications and exclusions
Manage multiple bids at the same time and hit every deadline
Lead scope reviews with vendors and subcontractors and level their quotes
Hand off awarded projects to operations with a clean budget and scope summary
Improve our estimating templates, cost database, and historical data so every bid gets faster and more accurate
What we're looking for
7+ years of electrical estimating experience (commercial/industrial)
Estimating experience at a general contractor or an electrical trade contractor - we value depth in either, and experience on both sides is a strong plus
Ability to both build detailed self-performed estimates and evaluate, scope, and level subcontractor bids
Required: experience finding and pursuing private-sector bids through bid platforms (e.g., BuildingConnected, Dodge, ConstructConnect)
Proven record of carrying estimates end to end with minimal oversight
Strong command of power distribution, lighting, low voltage, and fire alarm scopes
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, Bluebeam)
Clear written and verbal communication with owners, GCs, and field teams
Preferred: experience on advanced industrial projects such as battery plants, semiconductor plants, or large manufacturing plants
A plus: public or federal bidding experience (e.g., SAM.gov, prevailing wage)
Compensation & benefits
$120,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience
Profit-based annual bonus eligibility
Medical and dental insurance
Company-paid AD&D and term life insurance
401(k) with company match
Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
Travel: up to approximately 10% for site visits and client meetings
