You will help deliver traction power systems-including substations, distribution networks, grounding systems, and protection analysis-supporting major transportation projects that shape how communities move.
Your Impact- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses, to assess system performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety. Experience with protection coordination studies is considered an asset.
- Analyze and interpret study results to support sound engineering decisions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Contribute to the design and analysis of electrical systems for rail and transit infrastructure, including the preparation of layout drawings, single-line and three-line diagrams, and control, protection, and monitoring schemes.
- Prepare, review, and verify engineering drawings, technical calculations, specifications, and compliance documentation.
- Develop or support grounding and bonding designs in accordance with CSA, IEEE, and applicable local safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, systems, and others) to integrate electrical requirements into overall project designs.
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interface with clients, stakeholders, and authorities by providing technical input, progress updates, and support during design and implementation phases.
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure deliverables meet internal and external requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules, as required.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. A master's degree is considered an asset.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for licensure.
- 10+ years of related experience in either MV or LV system, or both, ideally within rail or transit projects, with demonstrated leadership in project delivery, client engagement, and mentoring.
- Proven experience with design integration across multidisciplinary projects.
- Proficiency in power system modelling and analysis tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead complex projects and mentor cross-functional teams.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 - $179,100
MB & ON: $123,300 - $169,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $122,100 - $162,200
