Position Summary...
Role summary:

The Senior Director Walmart Energy provides strategic leadership by developing and executing comprehensive business plans that align with organizational goals and customer needs. This role drives operational excellence through data-informed decision-making, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position fosters a culture of integrity, ethical conduct, and high performance while cultivating strong partnerships and talent development. By promoting innovation and sustainability, the Senior Director ensures the delivery of value-driven energy solutions that support Walmart's commitment to operational efficiency and long-term growth.

What you'll do...
  • Develop and execute Walmart's long-term onsite energy strategy across U.S. stores, Sam's Clubs, and Supply Chain facilities, focused on cost savings, resiliency, and clean energy objectives.
  • Lead portfolio development across solar, BESS, generators, microgrids, and emerging distributed energy technologies.
  • Oversee project origination, business cases, engineering, execution, governance, capital approvals, and long-range financial planning.
  • Build and lead high performing teams while managing developers, EPCs, technology providers, contracts, and commercial partnerships.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Walmart and translate evolving C&I energy markets, technologies, policies, and business models into scalable investment strategies


What you'll bring:
  • Demonstrated commitment to strong safety mindset across project development and execution
  • Significant experience in energy industry: Direct experience developing/executing Commercial & Industrial energy projects with solar and BESS; preferred experience with microgrids/generators/other distributed energy resources
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across energy project development, including opportunity evaluation/project economics/engineering/construction/commercial structuring/project execution
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience negotiating complex contracts and commercial terms/evaluating risk/working with developers/EPC providers/technology partners/other external counterparties
  • Strong understanding of the energy project lifecycle, including development/engineering/procurement/construction/commissioning/and operations, with the ability to anticipate downstream impacts and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and translating technical and commercial issues into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
