The Senior Director of Support Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a comprehensive service portfolio across a six-hospital system and an expansive medical office building network. This executive role directs the daily operations of Housekeeping, Patient Transport, Mail Room, Call Center, Linen Distribution and Nutrition Services. The Senior Director ensures peak performance in employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and service quality while maintaining rigorous financial discipline and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operational Leadership Develop and execute standardized operational protocols across all facilities to ensure consistency in service delivery. This position oversees the integration of Support Services to create a seamless support for clinical staff and patients.
  • Financial Stewardship Manage significant annual operating budgets and capital expenditures. Demonstrates strong financial acumen by identifying cost-containment opportunities, negotiating vendor contracts, and optimizing resource allocation without compromising service integrity.
  • Quality and Patient Experience Drive high-level execution of patient satisfaction initiatives and meets key metrics. Implements quality assurance programs that meet or exceed regulatory standards (DNV, CMS, CDC, and local health department) and maintain a sterile, safe, and welcoming environment for all stakeholders.
  • Human Capital Management Cultivate a culture of high performance and accountability. Lead employee engagement strategies to reduce turnover and enhance morale across diverse service lines, ensuring all team members align with the organization's mission and safety standards.
  • Efficiency and Logistics Direct the complex logistics of the system-wide Support Services networks. Optimize throughput and through data-driven analysis and technological integration.


Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is required

Baster's degree (MBA or MHA) is strongly preferred

Experience

Extensive, verifiable experience leading large-scale support service operations in a multi-site healthcare system. A proven track record of delivering measurable results over an extended period is essential. Experience leading large Medical Center, MOB network and long-term care facilities. Rural and critical access hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and budgetary oversight.

Expertise in regulatory compliance and infection control protocols.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills to navigate a matrixed executive environment.
