Full Job Description
NVIDIA's hardware reliability is foundational to some of the world's most demanding computing environments - from hyperscale data centers running AI training clusters to autonomous vehicles operating in safety-critical conditions. As Sr. Director of Board and System Level Reliability, you will set the engineering standard for how NVIDIA's products perform and thrive across their full operational lifetime. You will own the reliability engineering strategy for NVIDIA's broad boards and systems product portfolio, lead globally distributed teams and labs, and influence design, manufacturing, and supply chain decisions at scale. This is a role for a deeply technical leader who can operate at both the physics-of-failure level and the executive level - someone who brings rigor to reliability modeling, drives design decisions through data, and builds organizations capable of sustaining NVIDIA's pace of innovation.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Own board and system level hardware reliability across NVIDIA's product lines, including Data Center, Server, Graphics Cards, Automotive, Embedded, and emerging platforms. Ensure every product fulfills the vital reliability and quality standards, from component qualification through field deployment.
  • Oversee NVIDIA's HW product reliability program ensuring products meet all applicable reliability and quality requirements. Develop and implement company-wide HW reliability strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead multiple multidisciplinary reliability engineering and testing teams across domestic and international sites, including ownership of several reliability labs. Build organizational capability through strategic hiring, structured development programs, and a culture of technical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customers to ensure products meet and surpass reliability and quality targets. Champion Reliability Engineering and drive DfR and DfX methodologies across the reliability ecosystem, with direct influence over design, development and supply chain decisions.
  • Own the development of new reliability testing methods and qualification approaches. Cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity by introducing advanced AI tools, accelerated testing techniques, and novel analytical frameworks to tackle complex reliability challenges and reduce time to insight.
  • Define reliability improvements and testing ensuring adequate testing capability and capacity for current and next generation products.
  • Champion reliability predictions and modeling to drive rigorous risk assessments and quantify engineering uncertainties. Deliver data-driven guidance for risk mitigation decisions.

What We Need to See:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience); Graduate degree preferred
  • Experience includes 18+ overall years in board and system-level reliability testing and activities. At least 5 years working on Data Center equipment reliability and 10+ years leading reliability management.
  • Deep understanding of reliability concepts, physics of failure, testing methodologies, and applicable industry standards
  • Proficiency with methods for Building Reliability (DfR), NUDD, and FMEA
  • Experience with reliability modeling, assessments, predictions, and allocations
  • Strong command of statistics, data analytics, and reliability mathematics as applied to risk assessment
  • Demonstrated experience with component and subassembly reliability testing in the context of overall product reliability
  • Familiarity with finite element analysis and simulations, silicon/semiconductor/package-level reliability, electronics manufacturing and testing processes, and transportation packaging testing
