Full Job Description
As a Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Core Engineering Solutions team, you have direct management of multiple areas of the firm’s technology infrastructure. Your deep knowledge and expertise are leveraged to set the overall direction and short-term operational goals. Work cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances. Job Responsibilities • Manages multiple technical areas and collaborates on technology projects across different technical domains • Sets reuse-first expectations for enterprise-authorized AI adoption within the work environment across infrastructure engineering domains to accelerate delivery and improve decision quality, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data. • Promotes and champions the development of technological methods, techniques, and analytical approaches across the infrastructure engineering domain • Ensures technical compliance, risk and security is adopted and that service level agreements and solution scalability needs are met • Manages multiple stakeholders and complex projects consisting of large teams • Applies cross functional technical expertise, leadership and comprehensive business knowledge by communicating, managing and implementing strategic and operational plans, and develops and executes the function objectives with accountability for outcomes • Responsible for staffing, budget and relevant profit and loss, including managing and developing budgets • Establishes cross-domain governance standards for AI-assisted workflows used in delivery and operational routines, ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to resiliency, security, and risk expectations. • Use Agile practices and backlog & prioritization tools such as Jira to plan, build, and deliver the work • Turning manual into automated workflows on a continuous basis Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience • Knowledge of how infrastructure assets (Cloud, on-prem, private Cloud, SaaS) are registered, stored, and tracked through end-to-end life cycle • Strong background in Tech Risk & Controls oversight, monitoring, and reporting, with proven ability to execute controls framework activities in partnership with technology and risk stakeholders • Partner with Security, risk, control partners, and the technology teams as the primary ITAM (IT Asset Management) subject matter expert • Ability to shift from reactive to proactive methodologies to remediate and mitigate security risks • Experience managing and or developing large cross functional teams within the infrastructure engineering discipline • Demonstrated experience leading safe adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment across multiple infrastructure engineering teams, including validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity. • Ability to define review and approval and escalation expectations for AI-assisted recommendations aligned to resiliency, security, and auditability outcomes. • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale • Experience leading complex projects supporting infrastructure engineering design, scaling, resilience, and system performance assessments • Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring teams, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure Cloud platforms • Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting tools • Experience with deploying infrastructure through Code (IaC). Terraform preferred • Experimented with AI skills and plugins and the ability to apply AI to the relevant use cases • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps deployment practices • Experience with reporting and dashboarding using at least one data visualization platform (e.g., Tableau) • Experience with any observability platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace
