Full Job Description
This role can be a fully onsite or hybrid role based at our Irvine, California headquarters.

How you'll make an impact:

The Senior Director will: lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Edwards' global compliance policies and programs; proactively manage and evolve the global policy ecosystem; provide strategic direction to ensure consistent adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal requirements across all regions; and oversee global compliance programs and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define, develop, and maintain global compliance policies, procedures, and processes, including but not limited to those related to anti-corruption, HCP interactions, and Code of Conduct standards. Oversee global implementation in close coordination with regional Compliance teams and business leaders to ensure global consistency and local relevance.
  • Provide oversight and strategic leadership for global compliance programs, including governance routines, third-party management programs, and process-optimization efforts that strengthen operational excellence and regulatory adherence. Oversight and management of government inquiries related to Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption.
  • Establish and lead the global strategy for the compliance policy ecosystem, including governance structures, lifecycle management, and periodic review processes. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure a cohesive, user friendly, and fully integrated global policy framework.
  • Analyze and present strategic recommendations to leadership, advising on compliance implications related to growth strategies, M&A/integration activities, go to market models, and product launches.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators to assess global compliance program effectiveness. Identify gaps and oversee the implementation of corrective or enhancement measures as needed.
  • Establish a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies and responsibility for the desired culture of the organization
  • Oversee the global compliance training curriculum and communications strategy, ensuring content is risk-based, engaging, and aligned with global program priorities.
  • Support the Compliance program on respective governance and reporting requirements as appropriate.
  • Oversee annual business practices certifications and conflicts of interest processes, ensuring comprehensive execution and follow up across the enterprise.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management


What you'll need (Required):
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and previous related experience in legal, internal audit, finance, and/or health care compliance, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria


What else we look for (Preferred):
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in a related field and previous related experience in legal, internal audit, finance, and/or health care compliance, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
  • Juris Doctor and previous related experience in legal, internal audit, finance, and/or health care compliance
  • US State Bar Admission


  • Experience working in Healthcare Compliance in a large Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, and/or Biotech company.
  • Experience providing guidance on Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption
  • Experience with third party management.
  • Expert knowledge of global compliance laws, regulations, and requirements, including but not limited to anti-corruption, competition, healthcare compliance, public procurement, and export control.
  • Proven successful leadership and influence on compliance strategy, and experience successfully launching global or regional programs, training and/or communications
  • Expert understanding of compliance procedures with extensive and detailed knowledge of company allowing for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas
  • Expert knowledge of structuring global compliance programs consistent with DOJ expectations.
  • Ability to proactively identify compliance risk and recommend business-focused solutions and alternatives.
  • Proven expertise in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience in JDE and SharePoint a plus.
  • Proven successful project management capabilities
  • Prior management of direct reports


  • Occasional travel - domestic and international

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $245,000 (highly experienced).

The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
