Overview
Responsibilities

The ongoing transformation of Finance is central to the strategic evolution of Hines. The enterprise requires a comprehensive modernization of its operating model, processes, data, technology, and execution capabilities to deliver measurable change while maintaining control, continuity, and decision support across the core Finance function.

 

The Senior Director, Finance Strategy & Operations will lead this critical agenda, partnering with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align investment decisions, operational priorities, and execution capacity. The role will drive standardization and optimization of Finance delivery, accelerate technology enablement, and build lasting capability across the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Define the agenda

  • Partner with Finance leadership to define the target operating model, business case, and multi-year roadmap.

  • Align priorities across Accounting, Finance Operations, Capital Markets, Tax, Technology, and the business.

Modernize Finance delivery

  • Standardize end-to-end processes, clarify global process ownership, and optimize shared services and centers of excellence.

  • Accelerate ERP alignment, automation, data and AI capabilities that simplify work and improve insight.

Govern execution, value, and risk

  • Establish governance, manage dependencies, resource constraints and risks, and track delivery, adoption, and benefits against KPIs.

Build lasting capability

  • Build adaptability, change leadership, process ownership, and digital fluency across Finance; use project and interim expertise where needed to accelerate delivery without disrupting day-to-day priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements Include:

 

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years in Finance transformation.

  • Enterprise operating-model and process redesign experience.

  • ERP and data modernization experience.

  • Shared services experience.

  • Demonstrated rigorous value realization and benefits tracking.

  • Proven executive stakeholder influence and partnership capability.

  • Large-scale change leadership and transformation execution capacity.

  • Strong Finance and controls foundation with deep understanding of Finance operations.

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and influencing skills with ability to operate at executive level.

  • Compensation: Chicago - $162,000 - $218,000; Houston - to be determined based on experience.

About Hines

The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited was a major British industrial combine, a group of businesses manufacturing military and sporting firearms; bicycles; motorcycles; cars; buses and bodies; steel; iron castings; hand, power, and machine tools; coal cleaning and handling plants; sintered metals; and hard chrome process. After the Second World War, BSA did not manage its business well, and a government-organised rescue operation in 1973 led to a takeover of such operations as it still owned. Those few that survived this process disappeared into the ownership of other businesses. BSA began in June 1861 in the Gun Quarter, Birmingham, England. It was formed by a group of fourteen gunsmith members of the Birmingham Small Arms Trade Association specifically to manufacture guns by machinery. They were encouraged to do this by the War Office which gave the BSA gunsmiths free access to technical drawings and to the War Office's Board of Ordnance's Royal Small Arms Factory factory at Enfield. New machinery developed in the USA installed at Enfield had greatly increased its output without needing more skilled craftsmen. This new machinery brought to Birmingham the principle of the interchangeability of parts.
