Our Team, Your Impact

The Senior Director, Contract Compliance & Administration is responsible for leading all Contract Administration and Contract & Formulary Compliance functions within Revenue Optimization & Contract Compliance (ROCC). Reporting directly to the Vice President, ROCC, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across contract execution, rebate administration, chargebacks, membership management, formulary compliance, audit activities, and dispute resolution. The position is accountable for the end-to-end administration, validation, adjudication, and compliance of both commercial and government customer contracts, ensuring operational excellence, payment accuracy, regulatory compliance, and revenue optimization across the portfolio.
This leader serves as a key business partner to Market Access, Legal, Government Pricing, Finance, Commercial Operations, and Information Technology, ensuring contractual obligations are executed effectively while minimizing financial, operational, and compliance risk. The mission of this role is to drive operational excellence, maximize revenue realization, eliminate revenue leakage, strengthen contract governance, and ensure timely and effective dispute resolution while supporting innovative contracting strategies and optimizing both branded and generic pharmaceutical business performance.
A critical component of this role is championing the organization's AI, automation, and digital transformation agenda. The Senior Director will identify, prioritize, and implement advanced technologies to improve productivity, enhance compliance controls, accelerate dispute resolution, increase scalability, and deliver measurable business value. This leader will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, leveraging technology to transform contract operations, improve decision-making, reduce manual effort, and position the organization as an industry leader in operational excellence and revenue optimization.

How You'll Spend Your Day

Strategic Leadership
• Lead and develop a large organization of directors, associate directors, managers, and analysts across multiple contract operations functions.
• Establish and execute the strategic roadmap for contract administration, rebate operations, chargebacks, membership management, and compliance.
• Drive operational excellence, automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, service level agreements, and operational scorecards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer service excellence.
Operational Leadership
Provide executive oversight for:
Managed Care & Purchase-Based Rebate Operations
o Oversee accurate calculation, validation, adjudication, and payment of managed care, Medicare, purchase-based, and other rebates.
o Ensure contract terms are interpreted and configured accurately within contract administration systems.
o Drive payment accuracy, timely execution, forecasting, and customer satisfaction.
o Oversee customer inquiries, reconciliations, and rebate dispute resolution activities.
Chargebacks & Membership Administration
o Lead end-to-end chargeback processing, customer eligibility validation, roster maintenance, and contract membership administration.
o Ensure accurate class-of-trade assignments and contract eligibility determinations.
o Oversee contract setup, wholesaler connectivity, and customer master governance.
o Drive operational efficiency while maintaining strong financial controls and payment accuracy.
Contract & Formulary Compliance
o Lead contract compliance and formulary validation programs across managed care customers, PBMs, and health plans.
o Ensure compliance with contractual requirements related to formulary positioning, utilization management, prior authorizations, quantity limits, and step edits.
o Identify, quantify, and recover non-compliant claims and payments.
o Oversee managed care post-audit activities, audit strategy, and settlement negotiations.
o Lead cross-functional dispute management and resolution efforts to maximize recoveries and minimize revenue leakage.

How You'll Spend Your Day

Operational Leadership
Provide executive oversight for:

Revenue Optimization & Financial Stewardship
o Protect company revenue by ensuring only eligible claims are paid.
o Identify opportunities to recover overpayments and improve contract performance.
o Partner with Finance, Government Pricing, and Gross-to-Net teams to ensure accurate accruals, forecasting, and financial reporting.
o Monitor and communicate operational and financial trends to executive leadership.
o Support strategic contracting decisions through operational and financial analysis
Risk Management & Compliance
o Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry requirements.
o Oversee adherence to evolving federal and state healthcare legislation and contracting requirements, including the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program (MFP), Most Favored Nation (MFN) provisions, and others.
o Maintain a strong internal control environment and audit readiness.
o Support internal audits, external audits, compliance reviews, and remediation efforts.
o Establish governance processes that ensure accurate and compliant contract administration.
Cross-Functional Partnership
o Partner closely with Market Access Contracting, Legal, Government Pricing, Compliance, Revenue Accounting, Treasury, IT, and Commercial teams.
o Provide operational input on new contract structures, rebate methodologies, and contract language.
o Evaluate operational feasibility and compliance implications of new commercial contracting strategies.
o Support enterprise transformation, system implementations, and digital initiatives

Your Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical contract operations, preferably with Government Pricing and Market Access pricing & contacting experience, with proven leadership in process automation and technology adoption.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing large, multi-functional teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in:
o Contract Administration and Operations
o Managed Care & Purchase Based Rebates
o Chargebacks and Membership Management
o Contract & Formulary Compliance
o Market Access Contracting
o Gross-to-Net and Revenue Management Processes
o Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance Governance
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets, forecasting, accruals, and revenue optimization initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving Commercial, Market Access, Finance, Legal, Government Pricing, Compliance, Treasury, and Information Technology organizations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical contracting, reimbursement, channel management, PBMs, GPOs, wholesalers, and payer operations.
• Experience with Model N, SAP, contract lifecycle management platforms, rebate management systems, workflow tools, and enterprise analytics solutions.
• Experience supporting compliance with evolving healthcare legislation and pricing programs, including Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program (MFP), MFN-related initiatives, 340B, government pricing, and other market access compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale business transformation, operating model redesign, and continuous improvement programs.

Salary Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $205,520- $256,900 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
