The Role
The Senior Director, Communications - Global Supply Chain, for Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK) will be part of our Global Employee & Executive Communications team. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Employee & Executive Communications, the Senior Director, Communications - Global Supply Chain will lead a small team responsible for delivering high-impact global communications that support enterprise priorities and the goals of the Global Supply Chain organization, including factories and distribution centers worldwide. This strategic leader will partner closely with the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer to shape and execute communication and change strategies that engage office-based and frontline employees for our $15B global organization. This role will collaborate with Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, Investor Relations, and Government Relations to deliver integrated communication solutions.
In partnership with the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer and the broader leadership team, this role will help accelerate business transformation by developing compelling internal narratives, leading large-scale change and engagement efforts, and overseeing key communication channels and forums, including plant leader meetings, quarterly town halls, and other employee events.
This position will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina, though remote locations will be considered. Accessibility to our East Coast hub locations is required.
Primary Accountabilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer and senior leadership team on communication strategies that support business objectives, operational excellence, and a culture of engagement and accountability.
- Lead the integrated communications strategy for Global Supply Chain, with a focus on organizational and cultural transformation aligned to Stanley Black & Decker’s business and growth priorities.
- Build and lead a high-performing communications team that delivers clear, consistent, and impactful messaging.
- Partner with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen organizational alignment, improve employee understanding, and support change and transformation initiatives.
- Measure and refine communication effectiveness through feedback and analytics to continuously improve engagement and alignment.
- Partner with the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer and the external communications team to develop thought leadership content for social media and conference presentations that elevates the company’s voice, visibility, and strategic positioning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have led a comprehensive global supply chain communications strategy for a publicly traded, global manufacturing environment undergoing significant supply chain transformation. This leader will be a thought partner and trusted advisor to our Chief Supply Chain Officer and his leadership team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related fields within a complex, global, industrial organization.
- Proven experience serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, and considerable exposure to global supply chain organizations is required, along with strong consulting and influencing skills.
- Strong business and industrial acumen, including experience supporting global supply chain functions and transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic communication and change management strategies that drive organizational alignment, engagement, and business objectives.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build connectivity and drive clear, effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience communicating effectively with broad employee audiences, including both office-based professionals and deskless or factory-based employees (within the industrial manufacturing industry preferred).
- Exceptional writing, editing, content development, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling communications for diverse, global audiences.
- Data-driven and innovative mindset, with experience applying contemporary digital communication tools and practices to improve impact and engagement.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills, able to manage multiple priorities with agility, resilience, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong project management capabilities, with demonstrated success leading multiple assignments from conception to completion on time and within budget.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 20-40% of the time.

The Salary range for this position is $145,600.00 - $259,600.00
This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
