Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, Cell Therapy Multiple Myeloma, the Senior Director, WW Medical, Multiple Myeloma Cell Therapy will represent WW Medical Affairs as a therapeutic area expert and provide strategic scientific leadership for arlo-cel, our GPRC5D CAR T currently in clinical development in multiple myeloma. This individual will be accountable for driving global launch readiness, including external communications and market shaping, internal readiness, and strategic partnership on launch activities across the matrix. The role carries forward-looking responsibility across the broader MM Cell Therapy portfolio, including lifecycle management priorities and evidence generation strategy.

The role requires depth of scientific expertise, credibility with external thought leaders, and the leadership composure to operate effectively at the intersection of WW commercialization, local Medical Affairs, and global Clinical Development. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at a pivotal moment in the evolution of BMS's Cell Therapy franchise, demanding an individual who can balance strategic vision with flawless operational execution in a complex, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership of Arlo-cel
  • Lead WW Medical Affairs strategy for arlo-cel, driving global launch readiness across external communications, market shaping, and internal readiness activities
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives related to arlo-cel, integrating strategies across the MM portfolio where necessary
  • Collaborate with local Medical Affairs teams to align on launch strategy and tactics, ensuring cohesive, market-ready action plans globally
  • Drive cross-asset collaboration and knowledge sharing, fostering a unified BMS presence in multiple myeloma, including partnerships across Cell Therapy and Oncology
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key thought leaders and KOLs at major academic centers; engage cooperative groups, steering committees, and advisory boards to generate insights and shape the evolving treatment paradigm


Seamless Execution of Core Medical Affairs Deliverables
  • Provide strategic input to guide publication planning and execution; serve as a key reviewer on abstracts, presentations, and publications
  • Develop and implement congress strategies to achieve impactful scientific presence and engagement at major meetings including COMy, EHA, and IMS
  • Provide strategic input into BMS-sponsored symposia and independent medical education events to enhance scientific dialogue
  • Refine the Integrated Evidence Plan (IEP) to ensure alignment with cross-functional goals; provide strategic input for evidence generation projects, including expert review and recommendations for new ISR and CRC trials as well as HEOR analyses
  • Represent arlo-cel as a leading member of the WW MM Asset Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team to ensure the global Medical Affairs strategy and deliverables are aligned across key medical functions and markets
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of publications and update key launchpad assets, including slide decks, training sessions, and Q&A materials
  • Ensure scientific excellence in medical education and effective data exchange


Provide Scientific/Medical Expertise Across the Matrix
  • Offer medical insights to guide clinical development plans and influence strategic decision-making for both early and late development, including knowledge sharing across assets in the BMS pipeline
  • Serve as subject matter expert to cross-functional partners in multiple myeloma, providing guidance that drives scientific and commercial priorities
  • Collaborate with global and local market access and marketing teams, providing expert medical content to support key initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with patient advocacy to align objectives and enhance engagement


Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) required; strong background in oncology/hematology, cell biology, or a related life sciences discipline preferred
  • 8-10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience required; Medical Affairs experience required; experience in multiple myeloma required; CAR-T or cell therapy experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated launch experience; CAR-T or cell therapy launch experience is a significant differentiator
  • Familiarity with clinical and translational research activities and the drug development process
  • Proven track record of operating effectively within complex, matrixed WW and cross-functional organizations; demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build alignment across diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking: demonstrated ability to synthesize complex inputs, perform strategic assessments, and develop clearly framed choices and recommendations with measurable accountability for outcomes
  • Cross-functional experience: highly collaborative, with a record of building and maintaining cross-functional relationships and communicating effectively with senior leadership, peers, and external experts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to large groups, senior leadership, interactive scientific discussions, and 1:1 engagement with thought leaders
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships, influence, and drive organizational engagement at all levels
  • Proven agility in prioritizing and navigating competing demands in a deadline-driven environment
  • Estimated 20-30% domestic and international travel (as applicable)

Compensation Overview:

Madison - Giralda - NJ - US: $229,380 - $277,956Princeton - NJ - US: $229,380 - $277,956

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

On-site Protocol

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
